A quick visa run

Finishing up in Doha has been a lot more stressful than arriving. So much to cancel, juggle, sort - the lists are endless. One thing which was a little unexpected was the necessary quick visa run! Although the golf club were happy to extend our visa so Oliver could finish the school term, my darling husband's residency was expiring and he didn't have any pages left in his passport to renew! So with the options of either him going on a quick passport renewal trip to the UK or the family doing a quick visa run to Dubai, we decided to take option 2!

As luck would have it, Lucy has had a few bad days and after a quick visit to the doctors, they tell us she is suffering from bronchitis and an ear infection - poor little baby.

Poorly baby

Hate travelling with a poorly child, but with little choice off we went. After a crazy week sorting stuff out, it's not such a bad place to do a visa run to and anyway we deserved a little mini break! Time to have some fun at last - or so we thought!

In the 2 days we were here we managed to meet up with Gareth and Caroline (friends from UK), Nelson and Priya (friends from Thailand, living in Abu Dhabi) and Helen and Gareth (friends from Qatar, living in Dubai)! Was lovely to see everyone and actually managed to relax a little bit. Dubai is such a fab place, I really do love it, will be strange not being next door!

Nice spot for brunch

Brunching kids

One place we didn't expect to visit on our little trip was the hospital. After a lovely brunch, Oliver woke in the middle of the night coughing and not being able to breath. With lights flashing down Sheikh Ziad road, we were taken by ambulance and admitted to hospital with croup. He was fine the next day, but blooming hell, these kids know how to add to the stress and steal you sleep!

All better at the airport

We are now back in Doha as visitors on a visit visa and have a month left before we head home... Time is ticking....
